Wine Tastings @ Fort Silvan Winery

Winery: Fort Silvan 47
Location: Commune of Camăr
County: Sălaj
Region: Transylvania
Country: Romania

The Sălaj region in North-Western Transylvania has a long tradition of vineyards and wine made the traditional way, but the current, quite surprising trends of climate evolution along with the evolutions in viticulture and winemaking technology encouraged the owners of the Fort Silvan winery to invest in its continuous development.

At present, the Fort Silvan Cellars and the Kensilvanum Country House invite young and old to come and taste the wines and the exccellent Hungarian dishes, among which the goulash is king.

And buy bottled wine at special prizes for takeaway (and drinkaway!)

Fort Silvan owns vines on the sunny slopes of Camar, a village at the foot of the Magura Simleului mountain in Transylvania, Romania. The grapevines are cultivated at the edge of the forest, where the area offers a panorama of the entire valley.

The cellar has a unique architecture, was built from stone and is covered with earth. It has the shape of the letter "U", with two entrances - outlets, each side having 25 meters.
